|Our Mission and Our Capacity|
Our Mission is to assist abused, abandoned and stray animals. Many times we are approached by people who would like to bring a pet to us. We really hate to say no, however, we have found that a cat used to a home has a hard time adjusting to living in a cat colony - our animals are not kept in cages (except to introduce them to a room/protect them after surgery or some similar reason). It is so hard for the pet to understand the change from "only" or one of two/a few to having 10 or more roommates.
Kittens should be arriving soon. We still have some wonderful kittens who are not so little anymore, but their personalities are now known to us and they still have plenty of play left in them!
We do try to keep up with other area rescues and refer to them for pet placements or specific breeds and there are links on our website to Spay/Neuter programs. We encourage Trap Neuter Release - feral cat colonies can expand rapidly without a program such as this.
In the meantime, if you are looking for a Special Companion (one that loves unconditionally), please come by during our Saturday Open Hours. We have wonderful volunteers who can assist you in determining who among our numerous "guests", might be a good fit in your home.
