Where Rescue Meets Compassion

The Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc. (HOKAFI) is a non-profit, no-kill animal shelter for abandoned, abused and stray dogs and cats located in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania. The shelter is run primarily by a dedicated corps of volunteers and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Foundation depends entirely on the private sector for funding through donations, membership dues, grants and fundraising activities

There are plenty of angels right here on earth and you can be one of them. By signing up to become a HOKAFI Guardian Angel, you can sponsor a long-term shelter resident or fostered pet for a monthly donation that helps provide necessities and medical care through the Guardian Angel Program.

Chucky
Chucky, now named Ollie, did really well at our house, settled in nicely. No messes in the house which was a nice surprise. I thought he might have an accident since it was all new, but he did great. Met my 2 year old granddaughter today and took treats very gently from her. He is now settled in to my office and is a perfect gentleman. Thanks again for bringing him up to us.

Rufey is such a perpetual motion machine that he’s virtually impossible to get an unblurred picture of. No sooner do I get the shot framed and start to press the shutter than he moves. Thought you might like to see this rare moment.

We had a wonderful weekend!! He is such a great dog - he is so loving and sweet and is so well behaved! I took him to the park yesterday and everyone kept commenting not only how cute he is but how well he walks and doesn't bother other dogs. He did so well! He is a perfect little guy.
