Be a Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel sponsorship provides food and medical care until that special person comes through the door to take them home. Becoming a Guardian Angel is also a way of showing your support for the shelter.

People choose to become a Guardian Angel for a variety of reasons:

• Desire to financially help a homeless dog or cat
• Already have a houseful of pets
• Wonderful gift to an animal loving friend who already has everything
• Unable to volunteer time but can contribute to the health and welfare of a homeless cat or dog

Guardian Angel sponsorship provides a warm, safe place to be, good food and medical care until that special person comes through the door to take that special dog or cat home. Becoming a Guardian Angel is also a way of showing your support for the stray, abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs in the communities we serve.

Once HOKAFI receives your sponsorship form, the Guardian Angel will receive a picture of their sponsored dog or cat with brief background information. Guardian Angels will also receive a holiday greeting from their sponsored furry friend and and can visit their sponsored cat or dog at the shelter by appointment or during open hours on Saturdays from 12:00 noon until 3:00 pm.  Every July, you will receive a Guardian Angel letter with information pertaining to the Guardian Angel program.  This year, instead of receiving a coupon book, we are asking you to place a “GA” in the memo field of your check.  This will ensure your donation is correctly accounted for.  The process allows us to reduce the paper, ink and postage costs of the Guardian Angel program.  We hope this new process is more convenient for you as well. 

Absolutely! Guardian Angel sponsorship makes a great gift from the heart. A card acknowledging the gift will be sent to the recipient or to you if you choose to deliver the gift yourself. The card may include a brief message if you wish.

If you choose, a new dog or cat will be selected for you to sponsor.
